Elif N. Özmert

Prof. Elif N. Özmert received her medical doctor degree (MD) and completed her residency in pediatrics at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. She received her PhD degree in Social Pediatrics from Hacettepe University Institute of Child Health in 2000. Since 2003 she is working as Professor of Pediatrics at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine Department of Pediatrics. She also served as staff of Hacettepe University Department of Medical Education between 2001-2011. She was Associate Dean of Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine between 2009-2012. She was certified as a Developmental Pediatrician in 2012 She then established the division of Developmental Pediatrics and since then is the head of the division. She was the chief of the Department of Pediatrics between 2015-2021.  She is the vice president of the Turkish National Pediatric Society. She served as the the co-chair of International Pediatric Association (IPA) Environmental Health Strategic Advisory Group between 2021-2023. And after  as  advisor of the IPA’s Program Area Committee on Environmental Health & Climate Change for the term 2023-2025. Currently  IPA Executive Committee Member for the term 205-2027)

She is author to more than 200 international, national articles or book chapters. Her specific areas of research and study are early childhood development, environment, nutrition, and developmental disorders.
