For authors submitting abstracts to the international abstract call
Participants who wish to present their research at the Sabri Ülker Foundation İstanbul Science Summit 2026 are invited to submit an abstract for consideration. Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee in accordance with the criteria outlined below. Abstracts selected through this evaluation process will be invited for presentation as digital ePosters during the Summit.

Important Information for the Authors
- Abstract submissions are open to local and international applicants from 15 June 2026 to 31 July 2026. Abstract submission deadline is extended to 21 August 2026.
- Authors must register for the Summit or create a user account before submitting an abstract.
- Abstracts must be submitted in English. Submissions in any other language will not be reviewed.
- Abstracts that do not follow these guidelines may not be reviewed.
- Authors who wish to be considered for the Oral Presentation session must indicate this during abstract submission. Otherwise, the abstract will be considered for Poster Exhibition only.
- Authors who wish to be considered for the Oral Presentation session must upload their ePoster by 23:59 (GMT+3) on 9 September 2026.
- Authors who do not wish to be considered for the Oral Presentation session must upload their ePoster by 23:59 (GMT+3) on 9 October 2026.
- Abstracts selected for Oral Presentation consideration will be assessed together with the submitted ePoster. Abstracts without an ePoster submission by 23:59 (GMT+3) on 9 September 2026 will not be considered for the Oral Presentation session.
- Authors who select the Oral Presentation option will also be considered for the Poster Exhibition.
- If an ePoster is selected for Oral Presentation, the presenting author must attend the Summit in person and deliver a 15-minute presentation during the dedicated Oral Presentation session.
- If you are chosen for oral presentation, all costs and registration fees will be covered by Sabri Ulker Foundation.
- There will be no dedicated poster presentation sessions. Posters will be displayed as e-posters in the exhibition area during the Summit.
- All decisions made by the Scientific Selection Committee are final.
Conference themes
Authors must select one primary theme during submission. Correct theme selection helps assign each abstract to the most suitable reviewers.

| Theme 1: Developmental Origins | Research on breastfeeding, maternal and child health, the first 1000 days, early-life nutrition, developmental programming, growth, cognition, and long-term wellbeing. |
| Theme 2: Nutrition Education | Research on school-based nutrition education, nutrition literacy, diet quality assessment, healthcare professional-led education, and educational models for children and families. |
| Theme 3: Public Health Approaches | Research on food insecurity, nutrition in emergencies, commercial determinants of health, policy approaches, community programmes, health equity, and systems-level responses. |

| Author responsibility | The submitting author is responsible for confirming co-author approval, institutional accuracy, and compliance with ethical requirements. |
Recommended abstract structure

| Title | Use sentence case. Capitalise only the first word and proper nouns. Avoid abbreviations unless essential. |
| Background and objective | Briefly state the scientific context, knowledge gap, and objective or hypothesis. |
| Methods | Describe the study design, population or model, data source, measurements, and analysis methods. |
| Results | Present clear findings. Include relevant quantitative data, statistics, or qualitative outcomes where applicable. |
| Conclusion | State the main conclusion and its relevance to childhood nutrition, education, health, security, or public health. |
| Keywords | Include 3 to 5 keywords if requested by the submission system. |
Review and selection process
- Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Selection Committee and, where needed, by an additional reviewer panel. The review will consider scientific merit, relevance to the selected theme, methodological clarity, originality, quality of results, and clarity of written communication.
- Abstracts submitted for Poster Exhibition will be reviewed for suitability, scientific quality, and alignment with the Summit themes.
- Authors who wish to be considered for the Oral Presentation session must upload their ePoster by 23:59 (GMT+3) on 9 September 2026. Oral Presentation selection will be based on the accepted abstract, submitted ePoster, relevance to the Summit themes, scientific quality, methodological rigor, originality, clarity of results, and suitability for presentation to an international audience.

Grounds for rejection
- The abstract is not submitted in English.
- The abstract does not align with one of the three conference themes.
- The abstract lacks a clear objective, method, result, or conclusion.
- The submission reports only planned work without data, findings, or a defined analytical basis.
- The work appears to have been previously published or presented without appropriate disclosure.
- The findings are not sufficiently supported by the methods or data presented.
- The abstract contains unclear, incomplete, or inconsistent information.
- Ethical approval, consent, data protection, or animal/human research requirements are not addressed where relevant.
- The submission does not follow the stated author instructions.
Formatting notes
- Use standard scientific English and avoid promotional language.
- Define abbreviations at first use. Avoid non-standard abbreviations in the title.
- Report variability and statistical significance where relevant.
- Use generic names where possible. Declare conflicts of interest where requested.
- Ensure all author names, affiliations, and contact details are accurate before the submission deadline.
